Cosplay Competition Rules

The below rules and guidelines ONLY apply to the COSPLAY competition.

The Cosplay Competition portion of the event is reserved for those who have either created or purchased their costumes who are age 13 and older.

Cosplayers wanting to show off their acting skills, skits, and talents as well as their costume (whether handmade or purchased) are encouraged to enter the Cosplay Competition.

How To Enter:

  • Only 15 entries permitted;
  • Entry form will be located adjacent to the Anime Screening Room at the Women’s Club at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019;
  • Once the entry sheet is filled, we will not accept any more entries;


  • There is a hard 5 minute time limit on each skit.
  • You do not have to fill the full 5 minutes.
  • You will be stopped if you exceed 5 minutes.
  • Costumes may be commissioned, purchased, street clothes, closet cosplays, heavily altered, and/or hand made;
    Entrants will not be judged on their costume but accuracy and neatness will improve their chances of winning;
  • No actual fighting.


  • Amelia Con will not provide sound equipment for music;
  • We suggest investing in a bluetooth speaker for your phone;
  • Music should not violate the convention or competition policies;


  • Prizes will be awarded based on audience reaction, not judges;
    Amelia Con reserves the right to stop any performance for any reason and without explanation;

  • Second Place: $100, Ribbon, Amelia Con 2020 Tickets
